Art therapy is a therapeutic practice that uses creative expression as a way to explore emotions, develop self-awareness, and support healing. Through working with different art materials, and exploring a variety of creative outlets , clients can communicate thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words.

Engaging in artmaking has proven benefits for mental health, such as:

  • Reducing anxiety and supporting relaxation
  • Regulating emotions and building resilience
  • Increasing confidence and self-esteem
  • Promoting a sense of calm and control
  • Encouraging body–mind connection and sensory awareness
  • Helping process experiences and gain new perspectives in a safe, supportive space
The tactile and sensory qualities of art materials play an important role in this process, offering a grounding and creative pathway toward wellbeing and healing.

Antonella is a qualified and HCPC-registered Art Therapist (MA), specialising in neuroscience and trauma-informed approaches. Her practice is rooted in an understanding of attachment patterns, emotional regulation, and the impact of trauma on the brain and nervous system.

She has extensive experience working with children, young people, and adults with neurodiversity, complex needs, trauma histories, and sensory processing differences.

She believes the transformative power of creativity is the key to access our inner self and wellbeing.

She offers one-to-one in-person art therapy sessions, providing a safe, non-judgmental space where each person can explore their inner world through creative expression at their own pace. each session is tailored around the client’s individual needs, with a focus on their strengths and inner resources to support growth and healing that help them move forward. There is no right or wrong way to make art — the creative process itself becomes a gentle and empowering way to understand oneself more deeply.
